Yahoo Answers. Can it help?
You know that link building is one of the cornerstones of pushing your website to the top of the internet choices. Another major boost to the top is creating a name for yourself and your site through exposure of you and your site as experts on your topic. Since financial investment is often a handicap to investing in link building services, you might be interested to know that one of the best (and free) ways to build links is through Yahoo Answers.
There was a bit of a flurry of concern that this tried and true way to build links was no longer valid as a top link and reputation builder but that is not the case. Part of this concern is that it is no longer possible to sign up to Yahoo Answers and start posting answers and your link and find your answer on Google in a matter of answers. You now have to pay your dues as a Level 1 user, without posting your link, before Yahoo Answers accepts you as someone dedicated to your project.
Once you get to Level 2 (it does not take long – I made it in a week without trying too hard), you can post links but they have to be related to the topic being answered. Yahoo Answers is really cracking down on people using them for their excellent back links. So pick questions that fit within the range of your website, provide a good sensible answer and provide a link that will make people want to click on it.
If you take Yahoo Answers seriously, you will see what the typical questions are that people ask. Create something on your site that deal with this topic and that can be mentioned as something you have to offer people if they want to know more about that topic.

I’ve used Yahoo Answers a lot, and it does provide some great backlinks. I haven’t used it in a while, so they must have changed a lot since then. If they’re really cracking down on people, that’s good though. It’s no fun when there are spammers, makes the good and ethical webmasters like us a bad name.
